All Our Friends is a genre-bending album that plays on contrast and juxtaposition. A diverse collection of songs that explore a milieu of beauty with an underbelly of addiction, depression and abuse.
If not for its lyrical weight, many of the songs soar and float into elation, yet never do the tracks feel ungrounded. There is a balancing act being performed in each song that allows humour, contemplation and joy to shine, without ever overcorrecting into obnoxiousness. It is a love letter that criticises and analyses one’s self and one’s environment, with musical expanse and determined lyricism.

about
Australian indie-rock trio STUMPS release new single By Myself, a powerful return for the Sydney act following the release of their debut album All Our Friends released December last year.
Frontman Kyle Fisher’s unflinching baritone takes flight in By Myself, underpinned by the tracks swelling harmonic guitar lines and driving percussion. Fisher expands on the track, "I grew up loving finger style guitarists and their incredible technique, so I used that as a launching pad to completely butcher that fine art. This song is a pure reflection of late nights and is purposefully unfiltered in its conviction." By Myself sees the three-piece taking a leap forward, evolving from a band that were finding their feet, to one that draws comparisons to Bloc Party, Gang Of Youths and Foals.
lyrics
I fell asleep on the wood floor
So tell me what I’m good for
I look it over now
But I can’t make it out
With a letter for every bottle
Cause I've been drinking by myself
I've been drinking by myself
Dreaming of the possibilities, yeah
I've been drinking by myself... again
I'm sat here alone
So answer the goddamn phone
At the end of it all
With nowhere else to go
This boring conversation is dripping away
I'm drifting into nothing let me escape
Now my imagination is my saving grace
My saving grace...
Cause I've been drinking by myself
I've been drinking by myself
Dreaming of the possibilities, yeah
I've been drinking by myself... again
I'm sat here alone
So answer the goddamn phone
At the end of it all
With nowhere else to go
Cause I've been drinking by myself
I've been drinking by myself
Dreaming possibilities yeah
I've been drinking by myself... again
I'm sat here alone
So answer the goddamn phone
At the end of it all
With nowhere else to go
Cause I've been drinking by myself
I've been drinking by myself
Dreaming of the possibilities, yeah
I've been drinking by myself
